GARDaccess' Guidelines for Rare Diseases

GARDaccess' guidelines were developed to ensure safe and quality products and services for patients with rare diseases globally while raising awareness and supporting education in Low- and Middle-Income Communities (LMICs).

The GARDaccess guidelines were designed to align the efforts of all partners and stakeholders. The 7 guidelines outline the general principles to help create partnership and alliances for persons living with rare diseases and their families. These guidelines also focus on improving the process for improved access to treatments for persons living with rare disease in low-and middle-income countries (LMICs) including training and capacity building efforts.

The 7 Guidelines include:

  1. Assessment
  2. Partnership/Alliance
  3. Implementation
  4. Governance
  5. Training & Capacity Building
  6. Monitoring & Evaluation
  7. Sustainability
